Booking
- How early do I make a booking?
- Booking can be made 60 days prior to pickup
- Do we need a booking?
- We recommend you to make a booking in advance.
Please make a booking up to 15:00 2 days before pickup through the website. - How can I change or cancel the booking?
- Please call or use booking inquiry form whose URL is included in the confirmation mail to contact pick up location beforehand.
- Can I cancel the booking just before departure?
- Please call the pickup locations.
If you cancel on the date of the pickup, there will be a cancellation fee (100% of rental fee).
Cancellation made on the day before due to bad weather forecast* at no charge. Please contact us during store opening hours the day before.
* Bad weather forecast is defined as a 60% or greater chance of precipitation in the reserved region in the weather forecast released by the Japan Meteorological Agency the day before the event. - What is One-way service?
- One-way service is available to return bikes to another location between Giant Store Imabari and Onomichi.
We recommend you make a booking in advance via internet or phone call.
This service is available only in case you rent a road bike for 1 day or more.
One-way service charge: 3,300 JPY per bike
Please note that we only have a limited number of bikes.
You cannnot return a bike at Giant Store Imabari on every Tuesday due to the regular holiday. - I have not got the confirmation mail after the booking via the website.
- After the booking have made on the website, the confirmation mail will be sent to you automatically.
If you have not got it, please check the following points.
・ The registered e-mail address is wrong.
・ Please check if the confirmation mail is in the bin or the spam folder.
・ Please make sure you can receive mails from "@giant-store.jp".
・ The mail box or server is full. If so, please remove unnecessary data.
Reception
- What time do you open for bike rentals?
- All stores open at 9:00.
- Can I return a bike on Tuesday?
- You cannot return a bike on every Tuesday due to the regular holiday.
- We may be late to arrive at the pickup location.
- Please call us if you are late. The booking will be cancelled if you do not show up after 1 hour of the pickup time without any notice.
If you cancel on the date of the pickup, there will be a cancellation fee (100% of rental fee). - What kinds of clothes should I wear?
- It is preferable to wear the sport clothes. We recommend you to prepare for sunscreen in summer and warm clothes in winter.
Please refrain from wearing inappropriate for safe cycling, such as sandals and high heels. - Can I rent a bike without any identifications?
- You cannnot rent a bike without any identifications.Please do not forget to bring your identification.
- Can I receive a bike the day before pickup?
- Yes, you can receive a bike in advance. In this case, the additional fee will apply.
Only for the hotel guest who rents a bike at Giant Store Onomichi can receive a bike the day before departure for free. The repection is from 18:30 to 19:00 the day before departure.

- Yes, all major credit card is accepted.
VISA/MASTER/UC/JCB/AMEX/DINERS - Do you have insurance coverage?
- Insurance and coverage is included in the rental fee.
There is no insurance for thift and bike trouble.
More details, please view Insurance and coverage page. - How long does it take for the reception?
- It takes about 30 minutes.
- Can I rent a bike without reservation?
- Priority will be given to the customer with reservation, however, you may rent a bike without reservation depending on the availability.
- Can I return bike to another location?
- The One-way service (Return to another location) is available between Giant Store Imabari and Giant Store Onomichi.
In this case, you need to book a road bike in advance.
Note: ONLY road bike is available for One-way service. - Can I rent a helmet?
- Yes, you can rent a helmet for free.
Of course, you can use your own helmet. - Can I rent anything else?
- We offer you a spare tube, tire lever, mini-pump, and lock.
If you use a spare tube during cycling, the extra charge will apply.
Otherwise, please check contact each store since rental items differ from the stores. - Can I rent cycling shoes and cycling wear?
- We cannot offer you any cycling shoes, wear, and gloves.
We recommend you to bring your own outfits or buy them at the Giant store.
Only Giant Store Onomichi is prepared to rent cycling wear. Please ask the store.
Bike
- What is the difference between a city bike and a road bike?
City Bike
- user-friendly bike for beginners
- relatively short distance and slow pace
Road Bike
- suitable for a person who had an experience to ride sport bikes
- long distance and high-speed pace
- head forward posture than a city bike
- Is there any bike for a tall person?
- If height is 195cm, he or she can ride a city bike.
If height is 190cm, he or she can ride a road bike.
Please check the details from the bike lineup - Is there any bike for kids?
- If height is over 135cm, he or she can ride kid's bike.
If height is over 145cm, he or she can ride a city bike. - Is there any bike to ride with kids?
- No, all bikes are not supposed to attach any infant safety seat and trailer.We offer you a kid's bike ONLY.
- Do you provide bike fitting for free of charge?
- We offer you saddle fiitting service ONLY.
- Do I rent binding pedals?
- We cannot offer you the binding pedals.
Please leave us a message if you bring your own binding pedals, then we will attach them on bikes. - Is there any bike with a basket?
- All bikes without baskets
- If I bring some accessories, will you attach them on bikes?
- If the accessories can be attached by rubber band or velcro easily, such as cycle computer and saddle bag, we will help you attach them on bikes.
Unfortunately, we cannot attach accessories which need any tools except binding pedals. - Will you help me attch rear carrier on bike?
- We cannot help you attach the rear carrier.
- I have not ride a road bike before. Can I ride a it?
- The feature of road bikes is an aggressive riding position, however, If you usually ride a sport bike such as city bikes it might find no trouble to ride a road bike. If not, we recommend you to select city bikes because of a relaxed position and user-friendly.
- Does the bum hurt?
- Sport bikes, especially road bikes, have narrow and thin saddles. We recommend you to wear padded bike shorts or inner shorts for long distance cycling.
- Is there any bike for female?
- We offer Liv brand bikes which are designed specifically for female cyclists.
You can find these bikes in the bike selection screen when booking.
The relevant bikes are written as "Women's bike".
Return
- I may be late for the expected return time. What should I do?
- Please call the return location in advance.
You must pay extra charge according to your actual overtime. - What time should I return a bike?
- 5 Hours rental: Please retrun a bike until your scheduled rental hours.
1 day or more than 2 days: Please return a bike until 18:00.
In case you exceed the above return hours, you must pay extra charge according to your overtime.
*As for Giant Store Matue, you must return a bike until the time below.

[December - Feburary] until 18:00 - If I return a bike early for the expected return day or time, can you give me a refound?
- We are afraid that we cannot give you a refund.
Damage, accident, and theft
- If I broke a bike or any accesaries during rental, what should I do?
- We may ask for the repair charge.
- I got a flat tire. What should I do?
- Please use a spare tube and deal with the clearing work yourself. After return bike, we charge for a spare tube.
- If I had a traffic accident, what should I do?
- In case you had a traffic accident, you need to take the following prompt actions.
1. Take care of anyone who is injured. (if necessary)
2. Contact the police.
3. Contact the pickup location. (MUST) - If I got a bike stolen, what should I do?
- Please contact the pickup location. In this case, we may charge for the amount of loss.

- Please view Recommended routes or let us know the purpose or distance, then we will introduce you our recommendations when you come to the pickup location.

- What is One-way service?
- This service is available between Giant Store Imabari and Giant Store Onomichi.We recommend you to make a booking in advance via the internet or phone call.

- The distance is about 70km between Imabari and Onomichi.
It takes 5-6 hours for people who usually ride bikes.
There are some uphill roads, so we recommend you to take enough breaks if you are unused to ride long distance.

There are many outstanding scenic spots and loal specialities at Shimanami Kaido, so we recommend you to fully enjoy Shimnami Kaido by staying the night. - How far is it from Giant Store Imabari to the first bridge of Shimanami Kaido and how long does it take?
- The distance is about 6 km from Giant Store Imabari, and it takes about 20 - 30 minitues.
- Is there any transportations between Onomichi and Imabari.
- Please check the access information.(SHIMAP reference(https://shimanami-cycle.or.jp/shimap/))
- How do I get to Giant Store Imabari?
- The Store is in Imabari station yard at JR Yosan Line. It takes about 1.5 ~ 2 hours from Matsuyama Airport to Imabari station by using an airport shuttle bus and a train.
- Do you have a parking space?
- No, please use nearby paid parking.
- Can I send any luggages to the pickup or return location? Also, can you receive any luggages at the pickup location or return location?
- We do not support both service. Please use Yamato Transport which is about five-minute walk.
- Do you have a dressing room?
- Yes, you can use a dressing room and shower room.
- What is One-way service?
- This service is available between Giant Store Imabari and Giant Store Onomichi.
We recommend you to make a booking in advance via the internet or phone call.

- I got a flat tire. What should I do?
- Please use a spare tube, JPY900, and deal with the clearing work yourelf.
If you cannnot deal with it, please visit nearest rescue point. - Can I keep cycling to Shimanami Kaido?

- We do not have any lockers. Please use nearby coin locker. If your luggage is too big to put in locker, we will take care of it. (flat rate JYP 550 tax included)
Please keep the valuable to yourself. - Can I use a shower room?
- We have no shower room. Please use nearby coin shower.
- Can I rent cycling shoes and cycling wear?
- We offer you the following wear rental.

* Cycling Shorts
* Cycling inner
* Arm cover
* Glove
Shoes rental is not available.
This service is not applicable if you use One-way service (Return bike to Imabari).
This service is excluded from the reservation.
- What item can I rent with charge?
- We offer you a saddle cover with charge, 550 JPY.
- How long does it take Lake Biwa cycling?
- The part of the lake to the north of Lake Biwa Ohashi bridge, which was built at the narrowest point, is called the Northern Lake.
The distance around the Northern Lake is about 150 km and it takes about 10 ~12 hours by bike. - Do you have a paking space?
- You can park at Lake Biwa Marriot Hotel. (JPY 1,000/day)
If you are a user of Giant rental service, the first day is free and the second or later is JPY 800/day.
Please come to Our shop or the hotel reception. - Do you have a dressing room?
- Yes, we have a fitting room. Please feel free to use it.
- What time should I return a bike?
- As for Giant Store Matue, return time changes depends on the season.
[March - November] until 19:00.
[December - Feburary] until 18:00. - Do you have a dressing room?
- Yes, we have a fitting room. Please feel free to use it.
- Do you have a dressing room?
- Yes, you can use a dressing room and shower room.

- No, we do not have a shower room in the store.

We offer 1 hour free parking ticket when total amount of purchased at the store is over 2,750 JPY (tax included).
* There are elevators and you can take your bicycle into the elevators. - Can you recommend any good cycling routes?
- A ferry terminal to Naoshima and Shodoshima is nearby Giant Store. (it takes 1 minute)You can enjoy cycling on these islands.
- Do you have a dressing room?
- Yes, we have a fitting room. Please feel free to use it.
- Do you have a paking space?
- Please use the Ushijima Park WEST parking lot (35 spaces)
Those who use the store will receive a 3-hour parking ticket. - I would like to use the Ainokaze Cycle Train, what should I do?
- You will need to make a reservation for the “Ainokaze Cycle Train” separately from the bicycle rental reservation.
After completing your bicycle rental reservation, please send us a message stating that you would like to use the Cycle Train using the [Change or Cancel Reservation] link in the bicycle rental reception completion email.
If you contact us, we will proceed your reception from 8:50 on the day.
